Rev. Dr. Owar Ojha Ojulu is originally from Ethiopia, in East Africa, and he was converted and received Christ as his Lord and savior, defying his local gods. He was then baptized on Ethiopian Christmas day, January 7, 1995. Throughout his life, he has experienced the faithfulness of the Lord and strives to understand and share God's sovereign grace and love. The Lord has been faithful to His loving promises in his life, and he presses on to learn, acknowledge, and understand God's sovereign grace and love, continuing to share the gospel with many. He made a home in the Americas by way of Ethiopia since 2008.
Rev. Dr. Ojulu has held various pastoral positions. Prior to his current role, he was the pastor of Ebensburg and Colver Presbyterian churches in western Pennsylvania, where he served from November 2019. Theological Education is important to Rev. Dr. Ojulu, as he holds a bachelor's degree in biblical theology (B.Th.), a Master of Divinity (MDiv), and a Doctorate Degree (DMin.) with a focus on discipleship ministry and church teachings. He is dedicated to deepening his relationship with God and following the example set by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:10, which states, "My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death."
In his personal life, Rev. Dr. Ojulu enjoys engaging with people from all walks of life and preaching the pure gospel. He takes pleasure in discipling new members, meeting new people, outreach, etc. and visiting church members to provide spiritual guidance and support. BeenyJwok— “Goodness of God.”
Ken McGeary is our organist and choir director. He joined Grace Church's staff in February, 2013. His earliest musical studies began with the clarinet in the 4th grade, then organ in 7th grade. Through the influence of the wise organist at First Baptist, New Kensington, the teenage McGeary was introduced to the church's pipe organ. It was an indescribable sound and suddenly practicing became a joy. The passion for church music took root under the excellent tutelage of the late Arpad Heutchy. His formal training culminated in a Master's Degree in Organ Performance from Carnegie-Mellon University where he studied with the late Donna Wilkins. ("One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to meditate in His temple." (Ps. 27:4))
