Meet Our Staff

Owar Ojulu, Pastor

Open Position, Organist/Choir Director

Open Position, Organist/Choir Director

Rev. Dr. Owar Ojha Ojulu is originally from Ethiopia, in East Africa, and he was converted and received Christ as his Lord and savior, defying his local gods. He was then baptized on Ethiopian Christmas day, January 7, 1995. Throughout his life, he has experienced the faithfulness of the Lord and strives to understand and share God's sovereign grace and love. The Lord has been faithful to His loving promises in his life, and he presses on to learn, acknowledge, and understand God's sovereign grace and love, continuing to share the gospel with many. He made a home in the Americas by way of Ethiopia since 2008.

Rev. Dr. Ojulu has held various pastoral positions. Prior to his current role, he was the pastor of Ebensburg and Colver Presbyterian churches in western Pennsylvania, where he served from November 2019. In early 2024, he joined Grace Community Presbyterian Church. Before his time in Pennsylvania, he served as an organizing pastor for Hope Christian Ministry in Worthington, Minnesota. Additionally, he worked as a youth coordinator in Bellevue, Iowa and served as a director for Missions and Theology of East Gambella Bethel Synod (EGBS) of Ethiopian Evangelical Mekane Yesus (EECMY). He also served as an Evangelist in his home congregation of Itang Bethel church.

Theological Education is important to Rev. Dr. Ojulu, as he holds a bachelor's degree in biblical theology (B.Th.), a Master of Divinity (MDiv), and a Doctorate Degree (DMin.) with a focus on discipleship ministry and church teachings. He is dedicated to deepening his relationship with God and following the example set by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:10, which states, "My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death."

In his personal life, Rev. Dr. Ojulu enjoys engaging with people from all walks of life and preaching the pure gospel. He takes pleasure in discipling new members, meeting new people, outreach, etc. and visiting church members to provide spiritual guidance and support. Outside of his ministry work, he has an interest in sports, particularly soccer, where he is a fan of Manchester United. He also enjoys American football and supports Green Bay Packers. Rev. Ojulu loves his traditional food and fish is his favorite, specifically salmon, tilapia, and likes blueberry and cranberry pies. Additionally, he is a loving husband to his wife, Apay, and a proud father of five children, named Ammanuel, Ojha, MarJwok, BodoJwok, and BeenyJwok, each with special significance meanings:

Ammanuel— “God with us,”

Ojha— “Gift of spirits,”

MarJwok— “Of God or belong to God,”

BodoJwok— “God is victorious,”

BeenyJwok— “Goodness of God.”
